It is a journey. You are in the middle of it now however most likely on the wrong path without direction. The first place you HAVE TO start is with creating the right mindset. Changing how you think is absolutely necessary for the remaining steps, so don't even bother moving on until you've mastered your mind. Developing a positive, hopeful, and determined mindset will take some work, but over time will strengthen and allow you the ability to persevere through to the place you want to be. STEP 2: ALIGN YOUR FOOD CHOICES
Yes.... we know, we know. You've heard this many times before, but the food that you put into your body has a significant impact on your healing time and how your body functions. Making poor food choices is like putting diesel in a gas tank. Your vehicle will only run for so long. We have a plan to allow you to eat smart, not boring. Healthy eating should be enjoyable and not about banning all the foods that you love.
STEP 3: AVOID TOXINS
We are surrounded by toxins in our everyday environment, some people more than others. Science has made it clear time and time again that environmental toxins have negative impact on our health and result in a variety of symptoms. Begin by identifying common toxins you are exposed to so that you can minimize your exposure and start to rid your body of them.
STEP 4: INCORPORATE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
Again.... another tip you've heard before. But how can you get started doing anything active when the pain prevents you from getting started? The key is to start really small. Starting with a 5 minute walk each day, you are moving in the right direction. Ensuring you use proper stretching technique to limit your risk of injury and fibromyalgia aggravations is also key. Exercising safely for your body’s limitations and abilities is part of the plan that we use to direct our patients with Fibromyalgia, unexplained pain, or chronic fatigue.
STEP 5: SUPPORT YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM - THE MOST OVERLOOKED COMPONENT TO HEALING
A component of setting your body up for healing fibromyalgia and associated symptoms is ensuring you have a properly functioning nervous system without interference. Your nervous system controls absolutely all functions and healing in your body. Without getting this right and decreasing stress on your nervous system, healing becomes a tough feat. Many things can cause interference here, so understanding what can block normal function and how to fix it could just be the most important step of all for you to get your life back on track.
